My name is Nicole (Maral) Starlin and I have been in the education system since 2003, and have been with the YCUSD Child Development program since 2008. I graduated from Chapman University in with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science. I have an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Yuba College and currently hold a Site Supervisor’s Permit from California’s Commission on Teacher’s Credentialing.
Education is my passion. My personal philosophy is that every classroom has its own unique community; my role as the teacher is to facilitate each child in developing their own potential and learning styles with enthusiasm self-confidence. I incorporate hands-on learning, cooperative learning, projects, and themes that engage and activate student learning.
I have been a life-long resident in the Yuba-Sutter area and enjoy fishing and camping with my family whenever I can get to the Sierra Nevadas or the coast. Our family loves baseball and football and travel often to the Bay Area for games. Between the classroom and outdoor events there is never a dull moment. I make it a point to enjoy life to the fullest!
