- Women, Infants and Children Program. WIC helps families by providing nutrition education, issuing checks for healthy supplemental foods, and making referrals to healthcare and other community services. Participants must meet income guidelines and be either pregnant women, new mothers, infants, or children under age five.

- The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) can offer income-eligible residents of Sutter and Yuba Counties a credit to their utility bill. HEAP is available for customers of PG&E, SMUD, or those who heat their home using wood, propane, or oil purchased from a vendor.
- REACH - Relief for Energy Assistance through Community Help - See if you qualify, and then contact the Salvation Army at 1-800-933-9677.
- The REACH Program has provided emergency energy assistance to low-income families within the PG&E service area who are in jeopardy of losing their electricity services. REACH is a one-time energy-assistance program sponsored by PG&E and administered through the Salvation Army from 170 offices in northern and central California. Those who have experienced an uncontrollable or unforeseen hardship may receive an energy credit up to $300, credit amount based on the past due amount of the bill. REACH assistance may be available once within an 18 month period, but exceptions can be made for seniors, the physically challenged and the terminally ill.

Families, single women and couples seeking winter season shelter should come to the Hands of Hope facility at 909 Spiva Avenue in Yuba City during these dates. Intake hours are between 5:30 and 6:30 pm daily during the winter season. You are encouraged to arrive at the earliest time possible as space may be limited.
